Peace! In this episode of TRGGR Radio we speak with Dr. annalise fonza about her upcoming local oral history event in Springfield, “He Who Has the Knowledge of Self-determination Lives Well,” which will celebrate the work of George R. Marshall, a lifetime resident of the city, an educator, and a former City Planner. Later in the show (part 2) we discuss the health condition of DJ Kool Herc and what it means for Hip-Hop. We also speak with organizers Niajah Doty, Corey Cochrane and Dana Finkelstein from Student Bridges at UMass and Hampshire College’s Community Partnerships for Social Change (CPSC) as they prepare for the upcoming Holyoke Bound. And in anticipation of the Super Bowl, we discussed the U.S. Steel memo warning workers of disciplinary action should they have decided to miss their shift to watch their team play.
