TRGGR Radio – 7.1.2011 – Pt. 1

Posted: July 7, 2011 by trggradio in Activism, Commentary, Politics

Peace. After a long break (okay, it was only three weeks) Chris returns to the show. On this episode he talks about the California prisoner hunger strike, Russell Simmons and Van Jones on the Obeezy reelection campaign, NYPD police brutality at the Smif-N-Wessun/Pete Rock album release party, a silver lining to the NFL/NBA lockouts, and in preparation for the Fourth of July, reminds folk to remember Frederick Douglass’s 1852 speech. We also get commentary from Dr. Jared Ball and Mumia Abu Jamal. Joining Chris in studio, TRGGR dream team fam Jose Cotto reports on the UMass smoking ban, and spits one of his recent poems-in-progress to close out the show. Enjoy.
